Movie review - Poltergeist

POLTERGEIST

BASIC PLOT
A families home is haunted by a spirit.

CAST
Craig T Nelson as Steve
JoBeth Williams as Diane
Heather Orourke as Carol Anne

FACT
Surprisingly this movie was not directed by Steven Spielberg as many believe it was Tobe Hooper but many still say Spielberg was in charge of the movie. The film was made on the same street as ET(1982) as Spielberg was making both films at the same time.

THOUGHTS AND BEST BITS
Its got some some good old creepy bits in it but for me i love the stair scene.

This is one of those classics its a great watch for halloween. And easily one of the best and most remembered movies of the 80s.

We start of with a nice intro then cut into the typical 80s start to a movie with some fun and music and the family all mucking around. Then slowly stranger and stranger things start to happen around the home before things final go bad.

Story wise its pretty good if not one of the best ideas and concepts for a movie. Its maybe done a little to fast at the start and it doesnt have the same shock value of todays more modern style scary movies but its a better watch and a better movie for it.

acting wise its tricky to rate and say as most of the cast were fairly unknown and some of them just kids. But even with little acting experience on the kids part this is on of the best movies for having kids in it that doesnt spoil it by having them act and talk like adults they actually do act like kids here. Adults wise well JoBeth is a fucking milf thats all im saying lol shes got that hot mom vibe to her in here and shes great in all of it. Craig T is better than you would think hes not someone most people these days know but here hes pretty good and plays the dad part spot on for the most.

This is a movie you have to watch before you die for any movie lover. And is on any ones list for a good halloween movie season.
