THOUGHTS AND BEST BITS
Well i do love the hot daughter Adelaide Kane who has some hot little legs. But sadly she doesnt have much screen time lol.
Ok so you guys now know its a low budget flick but going in i didnt so i had no expectations or doubts. And i did kinda enjoy it. Sure its a little fast feeling like its been shot in a week or something but its a good story and does keep you watching.
The story is very much a feeling of what America is heading towards with certain views and looks on life and its kinda a small hollywood wake up call. But sadly its not an action flick nor a full on drama or even scary horror flick. It sort of starts and feels a little like HOSTAGE(2005) its got the kinda vibe and with certain things that happen it feels like its going that way but then it flips it in a good way. And then it adds a new strange element to the film but then it sort of stalls. Maybe due to the budget or what they had time to film but it feels like major delay time and they spend to fucking much time walking around their home trying to find one man. And im sorry that would have took me minutes lol. Then you think its gonna kick of with some crazy action but the villains in the movie just walk around like its a beach party. No guns or shit just having fun ? i was a little confused as to why these people are acting mad and seem to want to get in this house and kill everyone but then they just prance around and shit. Then it changes it up with another strange sort of twist and you think people are here to help but they aint lol. So its a bit mental and feels not fully thought out or planned well.
Cast wise its fucking mad i mean you have Ethan Hawke for gods sake and the stunning Lena Headey and Ethan and Lena are no light weights Ethans a leading man worth more than what this movie costs lol and hes in here with Lena thats a fair bit of star power right there. And even the daughter Adelaide Kane who i now have a crush on is great to me shes an unknown new comer shes been in a few shows and even been in haha dig this Power Rangers ahhaha. Yes but despite this shes actually really good and she kinda reminded me of a younger ScarJo. Shes got the cute girl next door look. As for the rest of them the cast was ok maybe border line tv actors in parts and not fantastic but more than watchable.
The major problem with this movie is its yet another first time director who doesnt seem to have started out directing or went to college or had an internship and learned to direct, Hes just some guy who did some writing and is now handed the movie to make just like that. I mean he must have bent over for an entire board room to get this job as the tension he almost makes he easily wipes away in seconds and hes clearly got not vision as when you have Lena and some young talent like Adelaide you showcase them not send one of the characters off into the darkness to hide for 70mins out of the movie. And as much as the girl power in this movie should have been played up its not and its only more frustrating as you watch these lame characters start good then die out and not get a chance to do anything. I mean take the gif below thats Lena hold one of two guns yet she does fuck all with them i cant even remember if shes fires a shot off at all. I wanted to see the Queen Gorgo in her shine out and take over but instead its lame suburban mom mode. And worst of all in true hollywood style the kid son is a total cunt. Yeh gets this in a one day a year event when crime is free and allowed so you can kill rape yoink what ever you want and in the morning you wont be arrested its totally consequence free for 12 hours this dumbass kid lets a random guy out in the streets into his home. and starts the fuckfest off. If this was my house and kids and i new my kid was this much of a risk and dumbass id probably just kill him at birth but failing that yes id lock his ass up and tape him to a chair and certainly not give him the code to the security system that protects my house and family so he can turn it off and open all the fucking doors. Yes its one of those movies were you scream in your head at the characters to do shit. Its got the old 80s feel when people seem to be retarded and woman are a bunch of helpless dumbasses that can only cook. This wouldnt have happened on Buffys watch with Joss Whedon at the helm.
All in yeh its kinda fun and a strange good watch but dont buy this on dvd unless its a gift for someone you dont like.
